Bytepad: Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to the Android app Bytepad (package name com.blogspot.bytecove.notepad), published on Google Play by the developer Bytecove ("we", "us").
1. In short
Bytepad does not collect, store, send or share any personal data. It contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind, and it does not request any Android permission, not even access to the Internet.
2. Your texts and files
The texts you write and the files you open or save stay on your device. Files are opened and saved only through the Android file picker: the App can access only the files you choose, and only to read or save them when you ask. Open tabs and settings (such as theme, font and zoom) are saved in the App's private storage on your device so that you find them again the next time you open it. Nothing is ever sent to us, and nothing leaves your device unless you turn on the optional backup described below.
3. Optional backup
The tab backup is turned off by default. If you turn it on in the App (Help > Backup), Android includes your open tabs in your device backup on your Google account, if backup is turned on in the Android settings. That backup is managed and encrypted by Google under the Google Privacy Policy; we never receive any of it. Files you saved are not included. You can turn the backup off at any time.
4. Links
Some links in the App (for example "More apps" and "Rate the app") open Google Play or your browser. From that moment you are using those services, which are covered by their own privacy policies.
5. Data retention and deletion
We do not have any of your data, so there is nothing for us to keep or delete. You can delete everything the App stores on your device by clearing the App's data in the Android settings or by uninstalling the App. Files you saved with the App remain where you saved them until you delete them.
6. Children
The App does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, for example because a new feature requires it, the new version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
8. Contact
For any question about this policy, use our contact page or the developer email address shown on the App's Google Play page.
